Rhythms of the World has been on hiatus during the Covid-19 pandemic, which has made organising events challenging. A small group of members approached the trustees with a proposal to wind up the charity during that time. The proposal was put to the membership at the AGM on 21 March 2022. A majority agreed that the charity should continue to offer World Music and culture to the people of North Hertfordshire. However, the forms in which it might be presented were left open for future discussion; a festival of the type held between 1992 and 2019 is no longer feasible. The Trustees are keen to continue the charity’s work and are looking for the means to deliver its aims. These aims will be to continue to meet the Charity’s Objects under Section 3 of the Articles of Association and the objectives as outlined in each annual Trustees’ Report (the Trustees’ Report for 2021 can be found here).
